Project Introduction
In a community the size of Eureka, the Chamber of Commerce is a critical voice. We simply helped that voice to be heard more consistenly, accurately and promoted the support such an excellent group offers. Now the systems are built and a permanent Executive Director (which we hired and trained) is in place to continue the progress.
Project Build
- Create and publish a 100 page community directory with advertising. 162% profit in the first year and 173% in the second year
- Increased membership by 155% in one year and dramatically increased membership revenues
- Implememented and conducted a "Small Business Workshop" program with quarterly sessions
- Wrote a grant application with the state economic development "Dream Initiative" and also the tourism counsel - made the finalists
- Conducted over 35 events with total participation of over 1500
- Wrote a 4 page monthly newsletter (and did all the photography) that was circulated to over 5000 people, wrote and managed ongoing email blasts to all members, conducted an on-line survey to ascertain key membership feedback and measurables
- Managed two websites and researched alternatives for a new solution. Presented recommended solution that is currently in place.
- Worked directly with the Board of Directors (13 members) to assure smooth operations and strong communications between members
- Negotiated and relocated offices to beautiful new location in the heart of town over three times the space and decreased monthly rent
- Hired, trained and managed administrative assistant at no extra cost to the organization
